I ordered a custom piece from Nickey Kehoe and, to be fair, the finished item turned out really nice. It looked how I expected, felt well made, and I don’t really have any complaints about the actual product.

The process was the frustrating part. The lead time ended up being longer than I thought, and I had to keep checking in for updates. A few times I felt like I was being passed around instead of getting a clear answer. Not a terrible experience overall, but for a custom order, I really wish the timing and communication had been clearer from the start.

I really love the overall style of nickeykehoe.com. It has this warm, vintage, lived-in feel that doesn’t look too polished, which I actually really like. I ordered a lamp from them i’m happy with it. It showed up packed really well, with plenty of padding, which I appreciated because our delivery guy tends to leave boxes kind of sideways by the door. The lamp looks just like the photos, the color was what I expected, and it worked fine right out of the box. I set it up in the corner of my living room next to a stack of books I keep meaning to read, and it looks great there. No complaints at all, I’d definitely order from them again...

They have that sort of thoughtful, nicely made feel that makes you want to move everything else around your room to make them fit, which I may or may not have done. They looked like the photos too, which is always a relief when you’re ordering decor online.
The prices are definitely not impulse-buy territory, at least for me. I had the items sitting in my cart for a bit while I went back and forth, but in the end, the quality and the overall look made it feel reasonable compared with some other places selling similar pieces. Still, it’s the kind of shop where I’d be a little selective.

Shipping was totally fine, nothing dramatic or annoying, and everything arrived in good shape. I’d buy from them again, especially if I found something I couldn’t stop thinking about, or if there happened to be a sale. Basically, nice stuff, worth it if you really love the piece.
